August 30, 2011 by Chris Unitt

15 July 2011 was the first anniversary of Birmingham not winning the title of City of Culture 2013. The line-up for this year’s Birmingham Comedy Festival is out. Two comments from my esteemed colleague Ian Ravenscroft (who knows his comedy): Is there anything that grabs your attention?

No more Gun Quarter

July 29, 2011 by Chris Unitt

The Birmingham Post have reported on the plans to rename the ‘Gun Quarter‘. Here’s the plan: Two of Birmingham’s most committed journaleers and artists of human experience—a bi-polar working class warrior with a romantic streak you could drown a fascist in, and … [Read more…]

July 12, 2011 by Chris Unitt

I subscribe to STACK because it’s brilliant. At the start of the month a package lands on your doormat containing an interesting magazine of some sort. Book launch at The Hubb

June 30, 2011 by Chris Unitt

The Hubb is another one of those places in Birmingham that I wish I could get down to a bit more often than I do. There’s another interesting-looking event on this Friday that I can’t make it to. The blurb from the press release says: Soul City Arts welcomes acclaimed author, Na’ima B. Robert, to … [Read more…]
