Charlotte Hughes-Martin was dubbed the ‘Milk Bottle Banksy’ by the Daily Mail after leaving engraved milk bottles at random addresses around the Stourbridge area.
The Artifex Gallery in Sutton Coldfield are now exhibiting her work.
She explains:
The aim of this project was firstly to have a bit of fun. To release art into “ the world†and see what would happen. If I introduced something new into the communal glass arena, being moved from one person to another, would it open peoples’ eyes to more of the everyday stuff around them? Would it make people giggle? Would I make the milkman paranoid at the graffiti, and would it get back to the dairy? I am now curious to see what will happen.
If you see one of my engraved bottles, (or have bought one on ebay!) I would love to hear from you.
Hello Charlotte,
its Frank the milk man from gnosall (No longer with the great moustache).
I am glad to see that you are doing well with your art work. I do remember one or two etching on bottles, but i did not realise you had done them, i asumed they were on the bottles when i delivered them, but obviously i was wrong. Nice to hear that you have mentioned me. Would be happy to hear from you. Best regards Frank Anstey (Gnosall milk man)
