Arts Council Collection comes to Birmingham

Birmingham Museums Trust has been announced as one of three new National Partners for the Arts Council Collection, the UKs most widely seen collection of modern and contemporary art.

Over the next three years it will receive a £600,000 investment to host and curate new exhibitions from the Collection, giving more people in the Midlands the chance to enjoy one of the finest selections of British art in the world. Known as the nation’s leading ‘art lending library’, the Collection celebrates British talent from the 20th century to the present day.

The collection includes works by Birmingham-based artists Barbara Walker, Chris Clinton, Lucy Hutchinson and Stuart Whipps alongside pieces by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Lucian Freud, Mark Wallinger, Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas, Grayson Perry, Glenn Brown and Jeremy Deller.
