Looking for an alternative to the Christmas market for festive treats and presents? On Saturday 5 December there are four Chrismassy events to get your teeth into in Birmingham:
- Digmas – the Custard Factory’s Christmas fair offers live music and over 100 independent stalls where visitors can eat, shop and get into the festive spirit. Events include graffiti workshops, live art galleries, Christmassy films, and an Etsy Local market from Ideas Birmingham. Digmas takes place from 11.30am.
- Winter Market – A one day urban festival at the Bond in Digbeth with some of the best of Birmingham’s food, drink and artists. Featuring a courtyard of street food, real ale and a cocktail bar with live music, and indoor market hall of artisan food producers and local artists and designers. Doors are open from 12pm to 6pm. £2 entrance fee.
- FESTIV_ALT – Organised by somewhereto_, a market selling wares by local 16-25 year old artists, makers, entrepreneurs and craftspeople, who have
been offered a stall for free as a platform for their businesses and talents. Takes places at the Square Shopping Centre from 12-5pm.
- mac birmingham’s wonderful Christmas Craft Markets will also start on 5 December. Running on 5-6 and 12-13 December, the fair will take place throughout the building offerimg the best wares from designer makers from Birmingham, the West Midlands and beyond.
