The Sunday Bootsale at Birmingham Wholesale markets is something which is unknown to many Birmingham residents, but a vital part of the week’s activity for some of its poorest. The Council is preparing its current site for redevelopment and the future of the bootsale is uncertain. To archive and celebrate what is for many a Sunday tradition, Friction Arts have programmed a series of interventions, artworks and interviews. For the first phase of the programme they have commissioned artists to respond to the bootsale by making artwork interventions in the form of stalls at the market.

On Sunday 8 November 2015, between 8am and 12.30pm they will be exhibiting the final artwork stalls amongst the regular bootsale stalls. Updates on the programme can be found here.
