Launching Saturday 11th January 2013, made at mac features recent work from the Introductions to Art Techniques course, led by artists tutor Helen Tarr.

made at mac: From the Inside explores the interior of the mac – participants were encouraged to make large drawings combining usual perspectives of the building, created with mixed media techniques. This approach has resulted in a series of original and unique responses to the interior of the building of which we are so familiar with.

As well as the exhibition itself, there is also the chance for people to attend an Open Studio workshop based on the content of the exhibition with the artist tutor: Open Studio with Helen Tarr – Saturday 22nd February

Helen Tarr has been teaching painting and drawing classes since qualifying in adult education 13 years ago. She is a professional painter, achieving increasing recognition for her atmospheric oil paintings of Birmingham, which can be seen at Number 9 The Gallery in Brindleyplace and the reception area of the Jury’s Inn Hotel on Broad Street.

The exhibition is on until 4th May – free admission – and the opening times are as per the building.
