The Balsall Heath Biennale is conceived and co-ordinated by artists and Balsall Heath residents Elizabeth Rowe & Chris Poolman. The project is entering it’s ‘live’ period between July and September 2013. Information on the project is available here:
The project has many different elements: a newspaper delivered to all 6000 houses in the local area (that includes listings for cultural activity in Balsall Heath July – Sept), a talks programme, International Open Submission Competition, Public Sculpture Colouring-in Posters, an art school, and much much more..
They had a taster event at the beginning of last month (photos from their website below) – it looks like a wonderful inclusive community event.
