In the early 2000s, Kings Norton dweller Tim Thomson started up the BrainCell Collective, a vehicle for organising art fairs and exhibitions for local artists. What began as a close-knit artist collective, soon grew into a large network of over 200 members, where artists could keep in touch with each other, share opportunities and events, and even write reviews of shows they have been to/seen.

After a little time off, Tim has evolved BrainCell collective into applecart – an artist network and online resource for all types of artists – and he hopes to get the network up and running again.

We are always on the lookout for fresh creative talent – from any area of the arts – and any level of experience. Students, masters, amateurs, part-time, full-time – in fact any kind of artists are welcome to join. We are simply looking for raw talent and dedication.

The applecart network is there for you to make use of – share your work with applecart on their Facebook, and be sure to read more about how to get involved on their website.
