A few things we’ve spotted:

Women in Theatre present ‘Loving Me’ a new piece of musical theatre created with Looked After Young People. It was performed last night, and is on again tonight at 7pm at the Patrick Centre, Birmingham Hippodrome.

Poets Place at Yorks Bakery Café: “The first Poets’ Place fortnightly meet-up this coming Saturday at 4pm-6pm. Supported by Apples and Snakes and the Central Library, come to discuss shared interests in spoken word, page poetry, etc.”

IdeasTap are looking for Birmingham based IdeasTap members aged 16-19 who might like to be part of the Fierce Festival Press gang 2013.

Today is The REP’s 100th birthday. There are a lots of REP100 events taking place at The Old Rep, including exhibitions and audio tours, with more information (and news about The REP’s reopening) on The REP’s website.

New Art West Midlands 2013 exhibition launched last night, and is officially open at Grand Union, Eastside 15 February – 16 March and The Barber Institute of Fine Arts, 8 March – 19 May. “Experience new art by the most exciting emerging artists to have recently graduated from five art schools in the region…  showcasing the best new and specially commissioned work including installation, film, photography, sculpture, ceramics and painting.”

and I Love My City is one of those photography gathering expeditions by a big company giving “an opportunity to make your city the best loved city in the UK” by CBS Outdoor. They got in touch with us about it, we’ve not yet seen any tweets for #lovingBirmingham but if you have seen the competition, and are thinking of entering, as always, read the terms and conditions (particularly 7b.)

    Run a mile from the CBS competition, still amazed people enter these things without looking at the T&C’s…
