The Flyover Show 2012

The Flyover Show takes place this Saturday, 18th August from 12noon till 9pm, in Hockley Birmingham and promises to be a true celebration of the diversity, richness and power that inspire the event.

The headline act has been confirmed as Maxi Priest who is one of the most successful reggae artists of all time and has released 10 albums since his debut in 1986. Alongside Paul ‘Barry Boom’ Robinson also produced the first UK reggae track to reach No1 in Jamica – Philip Levi’s ‘Mi God Mi King’ (1984).

Also confirmed are;

Janet Kay ‘queen of lovers rock’ who is the first British Black Female reggae artist to top the UK British pop charts.

Wordsworth MC was born and raised in Brooklyn and travels from the US to appear in this years show. He is part of rap supergroup Emc and has recently released an album in June this year; ‘The Photo Album’.

Basil Gabbidon was a founding member of Birmingham born reggae group, Steel Pulse, and will be touring his latest album ‘Reggae Rockz’. The three time Grammy nominated Gabbidon is joined by Burning Spear bassist, Paul Beckford.

Other confirmed artists include MOBO award winning Soweto Kinch, DJ Winchester, plus local rising stars Lady Leshurr and Deci4life. There will also be a specially commissioned performance from Birmingham Royal Ballet. Visit the website to see the full line up.

As well as live music there will also be break dancing, graffiti art, food and a host of activities for all ages. The Flyover Show remains free admission and a family friendly event. The show takes place at Hockley Circus, B18 5PP, and is walking distance from Birmingham City Centre.
