Young People on Arts Boards Training Programme
“Arts organisations across the city have said that they would like young people aged 18–25 to become members of their management boards. They want to hear the views of young people and give them a real say in the running of their organisations.”

There are two festivals in the Black Country. Sandwell Arts Festival is running until Saturday 18th August. Highlights include a lollipop patrol by Curious Cargo in Smethwick & Blackheath, and If Only I Could… on West Bromwich High Street, both on Saturday 11th.
Also in the Black Country, Stourbridge Music, Arts, Rhythm and Theatre Festival is a bit of a mouthful so they’ve shortened it to the SMART fest. Taking place from the 10th to the 12th August it includes an Art Trail and a music festival headlined by The Musgraves.
The knit-graffiti installation, K2TOG, features in today’s Metro freepaper culture section. The columns of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery have been decorated in the colours of the Jamaican and USA flags, as both countries used the city as a base for their Olympic preparations, by ‘knittivists’ Stitches and Hos.
