- Kalaboration – artist talk with Keith Piper, 6–7pm at the Custard Factory. Keith presents ‘A Short Sprint’ video installation.
- Start of Brindleyplace Film Festival Brindleyplace’s first open air cinema.
- Oriental Art exhibition opens at Old Print Works, Balsall Heath 4–7pm “A sensory narrative by asian contemporary artists”.

- Hand in Hand for Syria, a charity gig at The Station, Kings Heath from 7.30pm

Saturday 18th
- From Tower Hill to Power Hill: Performance at the Drum by ‘Young Gifted Brum’ of stories from Jamaica to Birmingham.

Sunday 19th
- www.TradArtsTeam.co.uk The Traditional Arts Team leads music sessions from 8-10pm on the third Sunday of the month at the Prince of Wales, Alcester Road, Moseley, Birmingham.
- Museum Collection Centre (MCC) Open Day
- As part of the Jamaica Gold season, the outdoor event A34 to Jamaica (at the Drum) presents a cultural day of creativity aimed at children,young people and their families. The festival takes place in Phillip Street Park with activities, food stalls and a fun fair, to keep the whole family entertained.
