    ARC: Important Artefacts http://www.createdinbirmingham.com/2010/11/08/arc-important-artefacts/ Mon, 08 Nov 2010 08:51:18 +0000 http://www.createdinbirmingham.com/?p=7877 [Read more...]]]> ARC

On 24 November, curator Anneka French presents Important Artefacts in the final ARC of 2010. The exhibition draws on the history of site as a place for keeping objects of value, including paintings, works on paper, installation, live work, projection and text.

It seeks to address the idea of collecting as a process of investigation or accumulation, the idea of collections as things to display, and of the collector as someone driven by a particular passion.

Artists exhibiting work are Matthew Andrews, Jane Morrow, Tutte Newall, Tim Robottom, Molly Rooke and Joanne Masding, who you can read a bit more about on ARC’s website.

ARC is taking place at The Vaults from 6-8pm, entry is free.

Bawdyville promises to be an evening of fun, frolics and titillation(!?) With absurdly arresting gestures, one-on-one performances and installation laced with a healthy dose of humor and frivolity.

If this all sounds rather intriguing, maybe this post on Area will give you an idea of the kind of people Companis are.

Drop by from 6 – 8pm, when there’ll also be free cocktails – if you can catch one!

Artists include: Sarah Farmer, Rob Glover, EL Heath, Scott Johnston (aka Film Ficciones), Matt Eaton (of Pram)and Candice Jacobs.

The exhibition will be followed by a DJ set and archival footage from Birmingham-based music promoters COLOUR.
