On Friday night our knit graffiti faction struck at the heart of a Birmingham suburb.  We met after night fall and covered 48 safety bollards surrounding a roundabout in a rainbow of knitting.

There are photos of the dastardly deed here and a slideshow of photos from Sparks68 on Flickr.

As well as lots of things to spend your money on we’ve been using the space for other things.

We had Flatpack in last week – they gave out brochures and also installed David Hurley‘s installation ‘A Thought. An Afterthought‘. This week International Dance Festival Birmingham are taking up residence to promote the impressive line-up they’ve assembled.

For Good Friday and Easter Saturday Sarah Loves… has arranged for Sam Pierpoint to take up residence in the shop window:

Sam takes a plain pair of shoes of your choice and transforms them into original works of art entirely unique to you. Transporting her studio to the window of the temporary Bullring shop she will be inviting people to engage with her process and inspire new designs

But c’mere, there’s more. The following weekend the shop will be hosting a knit-in by Stitches and Hos. Click the link for all the info. Here’s the eflyer thing for it:

Stitches & Hos, the little knitting hootenany organisers have got themselves a spangly new website. In case you’ve not come across them:

Stitches and Hos are a motley crew of enthusiasts for all things knitted, crocheted and stitched who run a monthly knitting night based at Hare and Hounds pub, Kings Heath, Birmingham

They’re there on the last Tuesday of every month, lost in a flurry of wool and needles. You don’t have to be a knitting wizz to go along, as I understand it, so don’t be put off going because you don’t know your [insert knitting jargon] from your [insert knitting jargon].

Can anyone help Stereographic out? They need:
    (1) a mannequin – full sized / male or female. (If by any chance anyone has a reflective mannequin that would be a mega bonus!)
    (2) any ‘discarded design’ fellow designers / artists / companies have that they want to get rid of – things like demo prints / failed pitch designs / overruns on brochures etc
