Here’s a nice folksie video made by Chris Keenan, a.k.a Prime Objective, for Birmingham based band Goodnight Lenin. Their debut single ‘Crook In The Creek’ is having a release do at Hare & Hounds on 6 August.

Prime Objective Blog :: Victor Man Documentary
For the Ikon’s latest show Chris Keenan spent a few days “filming the installation down at Ikon and discussing Victorâ€™s work with curator Nigel Prince. The edited video is now live on the Ikon site to aid a greater understanding of the work” I like this sort of stuff

I didn’t know about this. “It covers folk and related events across the Midlands, featuring adverts for clubs, festivals, sessions, bands etc, central diary pages, articles, news and reviews” and costs Â£12 for 11 issues a year
Artfall – Birmingham University Exhibition
“Members of Birmingham Print Makers have put up an exhibition in Staff House at the University of Birmingham which runs until December 23rd”

BiNS provides an update on the previously mentioned ‘The Eye of the Storm’ project. “One hundred and fifty people from around Brum (including Clare Short) were interviewed to discover eachâ€™s individual attempts to â€œmanage the stresses of modern living and find calm within the stormâ€.” The outdoor installation part will be in Birmingham next year

Dom from Tak (on tunes) and Chris from Prime Objective (on visuals) have both blogged about their involvement in Culture Jam 2 at The Rainbow on Saturday 14 Nov (tagline – bridging the gap between cultures through art and music.

Chris says:

The Destroyers – Out Of Babel (video)

Mark at Surely has posted up the new promo for The Destroyers – the riotous, Birmingham-based, 15 piece genre-botherers – on the Surely blog:

Directed by John Humphreys and shot by Prime Chris in the late hours of a friday night in May, the merry band bring the dawn in atop a multi story with city views.

The Destroyers will be playing the Moseley Folk Festival at the end of August, which I really must grab a ticket for.

Prime Objective’s Purple Interventions

Chris Keenan, aka Prime Objective, was one of four artists (along with Jo Naden, Eryka Isaak and Matthew Robinson) to be commissioned by a large, local confectioners to produce artwork for the company’s new ‘Bournville Place’ offices.

Chris posed purple objects – bikes, balloons, bunting, drumkits and so on – around the (reassuringly clean-looking) factory.
