In a world where nothing seems real, everything’s a distraction and actions no longer matter, a young woman sets out on a preposterous mission – to change things for the better…

I missed Jane Packman Company’s last thing but heard lots of good reports about it. This latest, called A Thousand Shards of Glass (at AE Harris from 21-23 March) also looks interesting. Plus, if you go on Wednesday 21 March you get a bonus performance by Tassos Stevens from Coney – he’s good too.

Art Heist http://www.createdinbirmingham.com/2010/06/10/art-heist/ Thu, 10 Jun 2010 10:36:01 +0000 http://www.createdinbirmingham.com/?p=6022 [Read more...]]]> I just had an email about an upcoming thing called Art Heist at New Art Gallery Walsall, which looks really interesting – something between an exhibition, a game, theatre and… who knows what. Here’s some copy/pasted info:

Artist collective Coney and artificial intelligence consultancy Winterwell are joining forces to create an adventure in The New Gallery Walsall about conceptual art, forgery and the moment ideas become art.

They would like to invite you to go on a little adventure with them, made especially for you and exploring adventure as a way to engage audiences with art. Your expert input will help shape this new piece where the general public become art thieves and forgers planning and staging a daring heist!

The Game of Art will take place on Saturday 26 June from 10am – 4pm at The New Art Gallery Walsall, Gallery Square, Walsall WS2 8LG

The full thing will be on between 26 June and 31 October. More info via the gallery’s website.
